We are on a mission to reinvent the future of care, so communities are supported to thrive, and all members of the care ecosystem are valued.

We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide 1-1 support for a young male in Long Whittenham and Wallingford.

Here at BelleVie Care, we are looking for people who know how a simple cuppa can warm the heart. That the power of a compliment can make someone’s day. By just holding a hand, teasing out a smile, or sharing a laugh can mean the world to someone.

It’s this compassion and hidden talent that you don’t think are worth putting on a cv, the parts of you that never really get to shine in your current job, the skills you don’t even know are perfect for care, that we seek out so we can ensure that the people we support can live their best lives.

We don’t just see the value in the expected, we see value in the things other people overlook, we see you for you.

If you’re someone whose warmth and kindness shines through, and who embraces their local community spirit we’d love to hear from you. Because, these are the things we value too. Be part of the community that values all of you. Be part of BelleVie Care.

Caring is a value and a vocation.

Find a career that values you.

Bring your whole self to work #Belleviecare

Responsibilities and Duties

What would you actually do as a Personal Assistant?

  • Develop great relationships with the person you support and their family, treating everyone with respect, kindness and generosity.

  • The role will mainly be to support our client in his part time job

  • Pickup the client from Long Whittenham and drive him to a supermarket in Wallingford, where he works at for a few hours, 3 times a week

  • Support him with his work in the supermarket e.g. stacking shelves etc

  • Provide practical support to help them do the things that are most important to them, in the way they want. This includes supporting them to plan and participate in the things they already enjoy and to facilitate new opportunities. You will provide support to help take the next step towards independence, to establish new relationships and maintain the relationships they already have.

  • Provide support with communication and advocate for when this is required. How you communicate is fundamental to providing the best support. A big part of your training will involve how to do this effectively.

  • Manage your time well, and use it in the best way to support and to achieve their outcomes. You have the autonomy and authority to organise your time to do this with your team.

  • Bring your whole self to work – your talents, interests, and passions. Be creative in the way you work to support

  • Collaborate together and with their family, friends, as well as any colleagues from health and social care, to make sure that our work is coordinated and effective.

  • Keep all information up to date – the people you support, and your teams.

  • Provide safe, person-centred, compassionate support and work within team agreement.

  • Keep learning and developing individually and as a team so we can keep improving and be the best we can be.

  • Have great IT skills and be confident in using IT software/packages.

If you have never done support work before – we will provide you with all of the training and support you need. We hire people based on values, personality and attitude rather than experience.

If you have worked in support before – we will provide you with all the training and structures you need to work differently. BelleVie’s Wellbeing Support Workers work in small, self managing, local teams, supported by a Coach and Wellbeing Support Leader.
